Technical Information

Laboratory Testing
We carry out laboratory tests to validate all component parts: fabric, buckles, straps, foam and zips. For example, for fabric: resistance to wear, tearing, colour-fastness under UV rays, washing, waterproofing. A final test on the finished product simulates the kind of treatment to which it will be subjected over several years, to assess the strength of the assembly: the backpack is weighted then placed on a dummy which then reproduces the movement of fast walking over thousands of cycles.
10-year guarantee, technical partnership
The Strenfit component brand, Quechua's partner for researching and testing its components and assemblies, conducted tests simulating backpack ageing. The tests focused on components, seams and the end product. Their results enable Quechua and Strenfit to guarantee the bags they tested for a period of 10 years from the date of purchase shown on the sales receipt.
10-year guarantee, conditions
The guarantee covers any backpack faults, except those caused by normal wear and tear and improper use. This special 10-year guarantee will only be granted upon presentation of the product and sales receipt. If the product is covered by the guarantee, it will be repaired or exchanged free of charge. This commercial guarantee does not affect any statutory guarantees that are applicable in the country of purchase.
How is volume measured?
The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method: we fill the main compartment as well as each pocket with little balls. Then we empty these balls into a graduated container, which gives the equivalent volume in litres.
How to adjust your backpack?
1 - Loosen all the straps (straps, hip belt, load adjuster straps). 2 - Put the backpack on. 3 - For backpacks with a capacity of 50 L or more, place the hip belt correctly (it should sit over the pelvis) and tighten it. For smaller backpacks, the belt should be placed around the waist. 4 -Tighten the shoulder straps. 5 - Adjust the load adjuster straps as needed.
How to pack backpack?
Put your bedding at the bottom. Place heavy gear (tent, camp stove, food) near your back. Pack your clothes around these items. The groundsheet should be placed under the flap and the tent beneath the pack if there is no space inside. Keep a rainproof jacket and fleece close at hand. Place small items for daily use (sun cream, map, glasses etc.) in the pockets. If carrying a hydration pack (water bladder), this should be placed in its special pocket along the back.
Environmental measures
The environmental impact of the product is calculated over the entire lifecycle of the product using different indicators. An overall rating of ABCDE is provided to help you easily identify products with the best environmental performance by comparing products of the same type with each other (t-shirts, trousers and backpacks). Decathlon is a voluntary participant in this environmental labelling initiative. For further information: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/

Product test
All our backpacks are tested in the field by users who represent the target market under conditions identical to those found in typical use. In particular, our Test Missions bring the product manager together with people who are not affiliated to Quechua, to test, develop and validate the products.

Stockage tips
Store the backpack in a dry place.

Maintenance tips
To ensure materials retain their properties (especially waterproofing), we recommend you do not machine wash, tumble dry, dry-clean, or bleach your backpack. Do not iron. To clean your backpack by hand, use warm soapy water and a brush if needed. After a few years of use, you should renew the water repellent properties of the fabric using a waterproofing spray.

Verdict still out on Straps...
Used for 1 week or less
The good: I really like the back, it keeps its shape and enables breathability. The bag is cute and I love the purpler colour. Good size for a light jacket, water bottle, and lunch on a day day hike. I also wouldn't mind if it was 12L or 13L in capacity...

The bad: Not sure if this is a problem for others but the straps rub against my skin ( i was wearing a tank top) and it's painful.
Great Backpack
Used for 1 week or less
I am a college student striving to go as paperless as possible for the environment. My iPad Pro 10.5 inch fits perfectly into the “laptop sleeve” (I think it’s intended as a holder for hydration system? But that’s not what I’m using it for) and the rest of my essentials-eating utensils, reusable shopping bag, cords, an A5 folder and notebook, planner, medications, water bottle, pens and pencils, wallet, phone, and umbrella-all fit into the main compartment nicely. I recommend that you choose a smaller water bottle if you’re using this backpack’s bottle holder as intended. Longer bottles really do stick out. Other than that I have no gripes. Excellent choice for people who like to travel light.
That being said, I do have my trusty Jansport Hatchet for the majority of days when I need to carry more stuff. It’s the best 10L backpack you can get, much better than the under-padded Arpenaz and, in my opinion, worth every penny if you use it often and for extended periods of time.
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Bought this to put my fleece or jacket in when birdwatching. Super little backpack comfortable to wear. I can even fit my field guide in along with keys phone etc. Great buy
Value for money.

Great size for a day pack. Attractive style and colours.
My friend seen it the other day, and is going to order one.
great bag for cycling to work
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
great bag for cycling to work, so comfy and neat stays perfectly on your back. Great out for day out with the children (providing I am not carrying a days worth of food!) too. If it was perfect it would have a key clip but its pretty close!
