TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

We have reduced our environmental impact on this product

We have improved this product through various eco-design approaches depending on the origin of the yarn and place of production.
So, for this model, we employed 3 techniques: use of recycled polyester, dope dyeing and dry dyeing.
Each colour has its own eco-designed solution!

Our commitment to consume less water thanks to self-dyeing

Textile dyeing requires a lot of water but also produces waste water from the dye baths. To reduce this environmental impact, we chose to use a bulk-dyeing process that incorporates the colour pigments from the yarn manufacturing phase onwards.
We use this eco-design approach for our black pants.

Our commitment to consume less water thanks to the so-called "Dry dyed" process

This dyeing process uses little water because it’s carried out using a machine operating with pressurised gas to fix the colour on the fabric.
Thus, depending on the origin of our fabrics, we can use this eco-designed dyeing technique on our plain colours (except black).

WHY CHOOSE RECYCLED POLYESTER?

By recycling plastic bottles and used textiles to produce our polyester, we reduce the use of petroleum-based resources while preserving the qualities and performance of the material.
Our printed version models use this recycled material on the main fabric, as well as the waistband.

Available from size 34 to 50

Our priority? That our hiking clothes fit all body shapes and figures! So that everyone who wants to can enjoy hiking trails in complete comfort. That's why these pants are available from size 6 to 22.

TESTS AND WARRANTY

Test product

Our Quechua global design centre is based in Passy, at the foot of Mont-Blanc in Haute Savoie. This location means we can test our products in natural terrain. These hiking pants have been subjected to abrasion tests. Before being selected, the material of the pants was tested in our Decathlon Sportslab laboratory; then, once designed, the pants were worn with a loaded backpack for 10 hours of active walking.

Agree by

These trousers were tested and approved in April 2019 by a group of testers during a 2-hour hike at the foot of the Arpenaz waterfall in Haute-Savoie. In order to meet your requirements, Quechua products are tested in the wild in the conditions you encounter during your hikes. Our teams, as well as a tester panel (made up of partners, ambassadors and customers) test products throughout their development until they go to market.
