I had a fall while carrying my kid at the front as I scoot in the park after the rain. The front wheel suddenly loose traction and I fell forward almost crushing my kid on the front.
I believe the wheel are slippery on wet floor and with a kid standing in front, it made the CG shift closer to the front wheels and that’s another cause of my fall.
Hello Yew Kong!
I am so sorry that such an unfortunate incident has happened. I hope that you and your child are okay! I understand that the website states that it is okay to use for wet terrains. However, you will definitely have to be extra careful especially when using on wet terrains with a child standing at the front. Thank you so much for the feedback! I will definitely let the urban sports team know about this situation and state in our website under product information to be cautious on wet terrains. Once again, my most sincere apologies for the accident that had happened. We hope to be able to serve you better in the future!
Always here to sport you :)
the design of the handle bar after installed while riding is shaking. dont feel stable.
Thank you for your review on this Town7 XL Adult Scooter - Light Green, and we are sorry to hear that this item did not meet your expectations.
I understand that you are concerned about the safety while riding this scooter when the handlebar feels loose. However, this situation happens occasionally, as with bumps on the road/pavement, repeated jarring and vibrations, it's normal for certain parts to come loose.
As such, you may bring the scooter to either the Singapore Lab, Bedok or Joo Koon stores, to have all of the screws tightened, and test the scooter again at the skating rink in the store. Alternatively, you may also tighten the screws yourself with the Allen keys provided with the scooter upon purchase (designed to fit all of the scooter's parts).
Nevertheless, we'll bring your feedback to our design team to see how we can improve the make of our scooter handlebars in our future designs.
We hope that we can serve you better in the future and we thank you once again for shopping with us. Stay safe and have a great week ahead, Raymond! :)
Sport on safely!

I bought this scooter for my 7 yrs old son who has been using to go to school for the past 2-3 years.
Initial good impression faded away when at first the folding mechanism detached itself while riding as apparently I was told they can become loose.
I know it wasn't obviously loose when he started riding ... anyway bought spare part - hard to find - and worked again.
Few month ago in the morning when lifting it to leave home the front wheel and headset was loose and exposed the bottom bearings.
I checked online and it looks like it was possible to repair. When the shop in High Street Ken reopen I took it after checking first on the phone. After 10 days hear nothing, then after a call I am told that they still has to look at it, then called back and told is a write off as not worth to repair at £65 and in any case have no spare parts and want me to take it back. So you pay £100 pound for a metal scooter than won't last you 3 years ... when ask I am told that metal is no longer as good as it was 30 years ago...wear and tear! Come on it has been looked after and my son normally doesn't trash things, wheels are still in good conditions. I frankly believe that you just push for a sale and no wonder that our planet no longer can take our rubbish..... I also don't believe in their quote as replacement parts i calculated to be less than 20 pounds (front suspension £8, £2.50 headset, plus bearings) and a you tube video clearly show that is not a long job. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0D3Y0HxT74.
I am done with decathlon products...quick sale no support!
I will message you in private to follow up on this issue.
Bought this Sept 2019. Today, as i was on my way out to get a bulb, after about 150m out my property before hitting the main road, the wheel came off! I saw myself falling in slow motion. Thank God i wasn't hurt badly. I only take the scooter on school runs (2 times a week) and to the post office.
As the Decathlon shop was opened today, i decided to take it in to get a replacement.
The guy at the workshop said that he will need to inspect and send it for repair which i was a little apprehensive after what happened. I lost confidence in the built quality. After much consideration, one of them said that i can get a replacement or if i want another model, i need to pay the difference.
A discount was later offered to me after they realised that the scooter was faulty (inner rod broke). To cut the chase, i bought the OXELO Town 9 EF V2 Adult Scooter and was told that this is more robust. Fingers crossed. Hopefully i don't break neck and limbs in future as the experience has caused me to have anxieties rather than trust, reliability and confidence.
Thank you for taking the time to review this product, it will help product managers to review the products.
Sorry for the problems you've had and I hope the new scooter will provide a better experience.
I was advised in Decathlon the Oxelo Town 7XL would be perfect for everyday commute to drop my daughter to school with the add on child step. This scooter has 0% break when the road is slightly wet or even damp so me & my child have had so many skids and near accidents when trying to use this for commute I've had to stop taking her as its too dangerous. London is a rainy city so it is not safe to use half the time. Also when buying I asked how long it should last and was told as long as I change the tires every 6/12 months (depending on use) then it should last me many years. After 6 months the wheels are fine from use but the breaks are not working properly & I was told I have to buy a part and pay to have it fixed & the scooter makes a rattling noise & I was told I need to buy another part to have it repaired and its just from standard use. Manager didn't help and staff not very helpful. Just trying to make more money and said obviously breaks don't work at all when the floors wet. Would not recommend this scooter to use if you intend to use it in a rainy city, or if you need it for more than 5/6 months. Has a mudguard for rain but not safe to use in rain.
Bought this a week or so ago for my wife's birthday today. Opened it up today and unfolded the scooter. The scooter is great but we cannot fold it up again. The diagrams on the instruction leaflet are not really any help. Can't really give the scooter a good rating when we can't get a key feature of it to work. There seem to be two levers, one is on a screw thread, the other says Press. We undid the first one and pressed as hard as we could on the second and nothing happened. Please can you help? Thanks. John

The shock absorb of the scooter is quite bad. Cannot really ride on the road smoothly. The rear foot brake don't not brake very well. Also, it is quite heavy to carry it around and quite difficult to unfold the scooter.

Scooter is a good size, goes well but feels like it's about to break. It sounds very creaky and not sure how long it will last. Contacted Decathlon about this and they asked me if there are problems to take my bike into a store. I was like eh?! All I wanted to know was If the creaking was normal. Hopefully it'll last but not sure. Coupled with the customer service it's a 2* from me
