TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

WHY CHOOSE RECYCLED POLYESTER?

By recycling plastic bottles or second-hand textiles to produce our polyester, we have reduced the utilisation of oil-based resources while preserving the quality and performance of the material during your mountain hikes.

The benefits of a "ball fibre" synthetic wadding

The "ball fibre" wadding is a good alternative to feathers:
- it is made up of many fibres that can trap a lot of air, providing insulation from the cold
- it provides good thermal insulation even when wet
- it is easy care: can be washed in a washing machine, ideally with tennis balls as for a pillow so that the wadding remains well distributed.
If not, you will have to shake your down jacket to distribute it well.

Water repellency

Water-repellency is a feature obtained by applying a treatment that prevents water from adhering to the surface of the fabric.
It "slides off" without being absorbed, so the garment remains light, breathable and warm. Please note, this does not mean it is waterproof.
This treatment can be repeated to keep all its effectiveness. Use sprays that are applied to the outside, rather than additives used when washing the garment, which can damage the product's breathability.

OUR ENVIRONMENTAL APPROACH

Because we are aware that we must act to preserve our playground, Quechua is committed to limiting the environmental impact of its products.
This down jacket is eco-designed with more than 80% recycled fibres and a recycled zip to limit our impact.
The hood and sleeves are also filled with 90% recycled fibres
Finally, the inside hood fleece lining is made from 100% recycled fibres

A SCORE FOR COMPARING PRODUCTS' ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

A product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using various indicators.
A score from A to E is produced to help you make a responsible choice.
This rating is used to easily identify the products with the best environmental performance.
This is done by making a comparison between products of the same family (e.g. backpacks).
Decathlon is a voluntary supporter of this environmentally-friendly labelling approach.
