TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

Programme

This Hybrid mini-mal will let you surf lots of different types of waves, with the exception of barrels and very hollow waves. Easy to manoeuvre and will take off on the slightest wave.
Supplied in a thruster set-up with 3 FCS1 fins.
It will be available in limited quantities during the season with a different finish and a 2+1 set-up for greater performance.

Construction

Laminated by hand.
30 kg/m3 EPS foam blank
Deck: three fibreglass layers (4 oz, 6 oz, 6 oz)
Bottom: two fibreglass layers (6 oz, 6 oz)
Rails: two fibreglass layers (6 oz, 6 oz)
Epoxy resin
PU hot coat.
5 mm paulownia wood stringer.

The advantages of EPS/EPOXY boards

We chose this type of construction for our surfboards, because it offers a number of advantages .
Epoxy resin can withstand impacts better than polyester, making the surfboard more durable.
The board is more reactive and capable of reaching higher speeds
The expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam floats better, which means that the buoyancy is greater than a polyester /polyurethane board of the same volume.

Fin assembly

Supplied with 3 fins for FCS1-type boxes.
Once the fins are positioned in the plugs, tighten the screws until hand tight using the Allen key provided.

Protective cover

The board is packaged in a Flexi Hex® honeycomb sleeve inside a sturdy box.
There is no plastic packaging.
The sleeve can be reused inside your board bag to protect your board during transport.

Find the rules for priority and behaviour on the water on our website.
If you find yourself in a spot you do not know, ask for help from the lifeguard or people used to the area.

Test product

Olaian is based in Hendaye in the Basque Country (France). All year round, our design teams devise and develop attractive, simple and technically advanced products. We then test them in waves in collaboration with our ambassadors and sea professionals in the strictest conditions. We are convinced that, for us to progress, there is no substitute for the real-life situations you will experience.
