Men’s Anti-UV Desert Trekking Trousers DESERT 900 - Brown

The main component of these trousers is polycotton: cotton (77%) and polyester blend. All the cotton is organically grown, i.e. no chemical fertilizers or GMOs are used. What's more, this type of crop consumes half as much water as a conventional cotton crop. As for the polyester, it is recycled from plastic waste. All the parts in black (gaiter, strap, mesh) are dope dyed using a dyeing process that consumes less water.

These trousers are designed for treks in the desert and particularly sand deserts. To stop sand getting in, they have:
- a lightweight gaiter (that is invisible if you don't need it) which fastens on top of the Desert 500 boot over the laces.
- a storm pocket to protect a phone or fragile belongings, that is inspired by canyoning bags (protection from the sand). To drain the sand from the other pocket, the bottom of this one is in mesh.

The UPF index (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) corresponds to tests carried out on fabric by a spectrophotometer. A UPF 40 rating means that the fabric only lets 1/40th of the UV light through. This is one of the best available protection ratings against the sun's rays.

For greater comfort, these trousers have a wide fit, unlike most hiking trousers. As a result, the fabric does not stick to the skin, lets air circulate and reduces perspiration. Moreover, the wide cut means you don't feel restricted by fabric when seated.
